Rent Increase Request

The owner/landlord has a right to request an increase in rent, after one year of the initial lease agreement. The owner/landlord must submit a written request of the intent to increase rental amount to the Housing Authority, at least 60 days prior to the anniversary date of the initial contract between the LHA and the owner/landlord.

The written request must include the following:

  • The landlord/owner’s name
  • The date of the request
  • The name of the tenant
  • The address of the property
  • The increase amount requested

The Housing Authority will process the rent increase request in accordance with the provisions outlined above. Please note that the requested amount must be rent reasonable according to market comparability and it cannot be any more than an unassisted unit.
